George Daniel's personal watch collection set to raise 5 million at auction

Over 100 timepieces belonging to a world famous Island watchmaker will be auctioned today.

Sotherby’s is holding the sale of George Daniel’s personal collection following his death in 2011.

Among the items for sale are watches crafted solely by Dr Daniels as well as pieces by famous makers from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.

The sale of the 137 lots is expected to raise around £5 million for the George Daniel’s Education Trust.
