Warning against anti-social behaviour this Hop-tu-Naa

A warning has gone out to anyone “trick or treating” tonight to have respect for members of the public.

It’s Hop-tu-Naa – traditionally a time of the year when young people visit local houses to sing songs and parade their lanterns and costumes.

However each year police receive numerous complaints about anti-social behaviour with some youngsters choosing to egg and flour people’s homes and vehicles.

Inspector Phil Shimmin says this causes distress and inconvenience and won’t be tolerated:
