Poor summer weather blamed for drop in lifeboat call outs

Bad weather is being blamed for a drop in the number of times lifeboats were launched this summer.

New figures released by the RNLI show there were 21 call outs between June 1 and August 31.

That’s a drop from last year’s tally of 30.

The Island’s busiest station was Peel which saw the lifeboat launched seven times – an increase from 2011.
