Tower of Refuge to turn blue

The Tower of Refuge will turn blue tonight to raise awareness of a rare illness.

It comes after a request from Tracey Jones whose 18 month old grandson is currently being treated for Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis.

The illness sees the body produce an excessive number of white blood cells which damage tissue causing legions over the body.

The tower will be lit blue for a week to mark the awareness month of the disease and will coincide with the CN tower in Toronto also turning blue.
