New Elk for the wildlife park

There’s a new resident at Curragh’s Wildlife Park.

A male European Elk has taken up residency following a move from Whipsnade Zoo.

The as yet nameless animal is the new companion for the park’s female Elk and it’s hoped the two will breed.

Elks are usually solitary, unlike other deer species that live in herds, so park keepers were a little unsure how he would take to his new friend.
