Frustrating first qualifying session in MGP

It was a frustrating evening for Manx Grand Prix competitors last night after the first qualifying session of the festival was red flagged.

Conditions were originally reported as good on the Mountain Course but fog closed in on the mountain section during the opening lap.

It meant the Junior riders were only able to complete one lap before the session was called off.

Clerk of the Course Phil Taubman decided the second session could leave the Grandstand but that riders would be flagged in Ramsey and escorted over the Mountain in a speed controlled section by the travelling marshals.

The Classic, Classic Superbike, Junior, Post Classic and Newcomers are due on the track first tonight at 6.20 with the remaining machines due to go out at 7.05pm.
