Karran given responsibility for government's radio communications

Onchan MHK Peter Karran has been handed responsibility of all of government’s radio communications as well as being put in charge of the Island’s drug and alcohol strategy.

The Liberal Vannin Party leader was given a political membership within the Department of Home Affairs after being sacked as Education and Children Minister.

Now the DHA has revealed details of what Mr Karran will take responsibility for within the Communication’s Service including the Emergency Services Joint Control Room.

As well as this he will oversee the provision of site sharing facilities for the public and private sector at the radio sites.

Fellow Onchan MHK David Quirk has been handed the responsibility of the prison and probation services and the fire service.
