Kennaugh praises his Manx fans

Peter Kennaugh says he couldn't have won Olympic gold without the help and support from everyone in the Isle of Man.

The 23-year-old arrived back on home soil to a hero's welcome at Ronaldsway on Saturday lunchtime.

Less than 24 hours earlier, he'd clinched gold and helped to set a new world record in the cycling team pursuit.

Alongside his three Team GB team-mates, the Onchan man re-wrote the record books to comfortably beat runners-up Australia.

Thanking the huge crowd of supporters who greeted him at Ronaldsway, Kennaugh said he shared the medal with everyone who'd helped him, before signing autographs and posing for photographs with fans.

He said after years of hard work and preparation building up to the race, it was all over in the blink of an eye:(play media file below)
