Mental Health Service could move departments
Responsibility for the Island’s Mental Health Service could be changed later this month at Tynwald.
Health Minister David Anderson will move that his department takes responsibility for the service instead of the Department of Social Care.
Mental Health is currently run by Social Care following the breakup of the former Department of Health and Social Security in 2010.
Mr Anderson has said given that in many respects mental health cannot be separated from physical health it would be better placed to serve people if it were in his department.
