41,000 passengers through airport during TT

More than 41,000 passengers travelled through the Island’s airport during this year’s TT fortnight.

This is the highest number recorded since the TT Centenary Year in 2007 and reflects a 4 per cent increase on the same period last year.

Airport director Ann Reynolds said the airlines had worked hard in managing passenger demand – with airlines using bigger aircraft and running more services.

The weather did affect some smaller private aircraft from making it to the Island and the actual number of movements was down nearly 14 per cent.

Ms Reynolds said this reflected the fact that the average size of aircraft using Ronaldsway was getting bigger.
