David Anderson happy to be temporary Education Minister

David Anderson says he’s happy to have been put in charge of the Department of Education until a new permanent Minister can be found.

The post became vacant this week when Peter Karran was sacked.

Eddie Teare was appointed at first, but then it emerged that the Treasury Minister can’t serve in another department.

Mr Anderson, who’s also the Health Minister, was then given the job.

He is already familiar with his new area of responsibility as he was Education Minister from 2004 to 2006.[play media file below]
