Health Minister confirms free eye tests under review

The end of free eye tests could be on the way on the Island.

Health Minister David Anderson was asked about plans to cut eye tests on the NHS in the House of Keys.

He confirmed that his Department has been looking into ophthalmic care, and considering what provision it should be offering.

Douglas South MHK Kate Beecroft raised concerns that cutting eye tests could lead to higher treatment bills in the future.

Mr Anderson says he hopes the public take advantage of what his Department offers [play clip]
