DoI urges motorists to register UK cars to IoM
Drivers are being reminded that they need to register UK vehicles to the Isle of Man.
The Department of Infrastructure says cars must be registered with the DoI as soon as is reasonably possible.
Owners of vehicles that aren't registered or taxed can be fined up to £1000.
A vehicle should be registered as soon as it belongs to a person with a permanent address on the Island.
Those in temporary accommodation can keep a car on British plates for up to a year.
As well as being an offence not to register a vehicle with the Department, the DoI says it's also anti-social, as the owners of UK registered vehicles aren't contributing to the upkeep of the Island's roads through car tax.
