Marathon runner left out of pocket by loss of London City route

A competitor in the London Marathon says he's been let down by Aer Arann ending its London City route.

Tim Knott is disappointed in the late notice that the airline will end this route in just over two weeks time, with the marathon just four weeks away.

He booked his ticket months ago to get the cheapest deal, and will now have to pay extra to book to fly to Gatwick instead.

Aer Arann has said it will give full refunds to those booked to travel after the service ends.

Mr Knott has emailed the airline asking that it meets the additional cost of the new flight.

But Mr Knott says it's not just the extra cost that's an inconvenience [play clip]
