Minister seeks funds for new electrical substation

The Community, Culture and Leisure Minister will ask for over quarter of a million pounds to set up a new electrical substation in Laxey at next week's sitting of Tynwald.

Tim Crookall needs £274,000 to replace the equipment at the Laxey Manx Electric Railway Station.

The facilities currently in place are said to be time expired.

Tynwald members will vote on whether to approve the spending when it sits from Tuesday next week.
