Fire and Rescue Service makes cutbacks

Three posts are to go as the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service looks to save £221,000.

It's the latest division of the Department of Home Affairs to announce how it's going to deal with budget cuts.

The staff reductions will be made at management level and from the retained duty service.

As part of the savings plans, the Fire and Rescue Service will move from its headquarters at Elm Tree House in Onchan to the Home Affairs offices on Woodbourne Road in Douglas.

The frequency of fire safety inspections and some community safety initiatives may also be affected by the cuts
