Mugen puts forward team for TT Zero

A world famous engine company is bringing a race team to this year's TT.

Mugen is to compete in the electric bikes race, TT Zero.

Mugen was set up by the son of the founder of car and motorcycle manufacturer Honda, and is known for tuning the engines in a number of models of Honda cars.

The company has also provided engines for Formula 1 teams.

This year will be the fourth time the zero carbon emissions race has been run at the TT.

There's still a £10,000 prize still on offer for the first team to lap the course at an average speed of 100mph.

Mugen says it will be testing for the race in Japan and the UK, and will reveal who'll ride for the team in the near future.
