Cannan to ask about College and IBS merger
Michael MHK Alfred Cannan is to ask about the merging of the International Business School and the Isle of Man College in Tynwald this week.
Mr Cannan will ask Education Minister Peter Karran what his future vision is for both institutes and how much will be saved.
The management structure for both organisations is currently being merged, with them being renamed the Isle of Man College of Further and Higher Education, and the Business School's site being known as the University Campus.
A consultation over the merger revealed that eighteen posts could be cut as a result of the merger, but it's hoped the staff effected can be redeployed.
Mr Karran will answer Mr Cannan's questions in the January sitting of Tynwald, which gets underway tomorrow morning.
