Cancer charities praise surgeon appointment

Cancer charities on the Island are welcoming the appointment of a new surgeon.

Millie Bello joins Noble's Hospital as a general surgeon with a special interest in breast care.

Manx Cancer Help, Breakthrough Breast Cancer Isle of Man and Isle of Man Breast Care are all pleased with the move.

There had been concern that appointing a general surgeon rather than a breast specialist meant the current services offered at Noble's were being downgraded.

But Chief Executive of Manx Cancer Help - Andrea Chambers - says Ms Bello's appointment means more options are now available on the Island [play clip]
