SPC won't charter freight vessel to cover during gales
The Steam Packet Company says it's not possible to charter another freight vessel whilst gales and a broken bow thruster continue to cause problems for the Ben-my-Chree.
The operator says many freight vessels that are suitable for Douglas harbour aren't able to sail in the conditions seen in recent weeks
Most suitable boats can't be chartered short term
All urgent freight is said to being priorities by the Steam Packet's clients when the vessel is able to sail.
Ben-my-Chree sailings have been cancelled on six days in the last week.
