Winds force event cancellations but ferries will sail as planned
This evening's Heysham sailings are to go ahead as planned.
The Steam Packet had feared it may be forced to cancel the 19.45 crossing and the overnight return because of gale force winds.
It's now been decided that the Ben my Chree will sail.
Meanwhile, two events in Douglas tonight have been cancelled because of the strong winds.
The festive lantern parade that was due to start at Nelson Street at 18.45 will now be held at the same time next Thursday instead.
The Christmas Emporium and market in Castle Street has also been postponed until next week.
