Island marks Armistice Day
The Island will fall silent later this morning to mark Armistice Day.
It's marked at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month - the time and date the Allies signed a peace treaty with Germany to effectively end the First World War in 1918.
The Manx Government is asking the public to co-operate and observe the two minutes' silence to remember those who've died serving in the armed forces.
It's also hoped that drivers will stop their engines if it's safe for them to do so.
Government staff have been told what expected of them during the commemoration.
Public counters will display notices advising of the silence and phone calls will be answered with the caller being told they called back after the silence.
Staff have been told to suspend meetings and workers driving vehicles are asked to pull over and park at the side of the road.
