No back-tracking on freedom of information says Bell

The Chief Minister insists the government isn't back-tracking on the Freedom of Information bill.

Yesterday the Council of Ministers agreed to a full impact assessment being carried out to confirm how much it will cost to bring in.

Allan Bell says this hasn't been done fully up until now.

He says it's believed that a similar system in Jersey may have cost up to five million pounds to bring in.

The assessment of how much it will cost here is due to be complete by February.

Mr Bell says it would be irresponsible to introduce it without knowing the cost.[play media file below]
