Crew didn't stop or report collision with fishing vessel
The report into a crash between two boats off the coast of the Island has revealed one didn't stop after the collision.
Gibraltar registered MV Phillip and UK scallop dredger FV Lynn Marie were involved in the incident in April this year.
The crew of MV Phillip made no attempts to stop, nor did they try to contact the other vessel to see if it needed help.
The crew only reported the crash to the coastguard an hour after the incident.
Lynn Marie sustained damage to her bow, and had to be towed to Port St Mary by the lifeboat.
The report by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch recommends the owners of MV Phillip ensures its watchkeepers know how to avoid collisions and are trained to use the anti collision aids on the vessel.
