Campaigners want live animal exports banned
An online petition is calling for a ban on exporting live animals from the Island for slaughter.

However, the government's Chief Vet says regulations are in place to make sure there are suitable transport conditions for livestock.
Stuart Jaques has responded to comments made by campaigners who're calling for live exports to be banned.
It's been claimed that some lambs have to endure 12 hours packed into a truck because they aren't off-loaded as soon as they arrive at the abattoir in Preston.
Mr Jaques says he's checked out this allegation and it may not be correct.[play media file below]
Farmer's say they've been encouraged by the Island's meat plant and the Manx Government to export some sheep because there isn't enough demand for lamb here.
They can also get a higher price for the animals by exporting them to the UK.
President of the Manx National Farmers' Union Ray Craine says farmers don't like live exports either.[play media file below
