Construction staff laid off
Some construction workers have been laid off by Heritage Homes.
Staff including labourers and machine drivers have been affected, although it's not clear how many.
A spokesman for the company explained it's typical of the industry and staff numbers can fluctuate during periods when contracts are few and far between.
It's likely they'll be taken back on once more developments get underway.
Some workers told Energy FM News they blame the planning system for moving too slowly.
However, Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne denies this.[play media file below]
