Beach report "factually incorrect"
The Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority has described the latest edition of the Good Beach Guide as factually incorrect.
This year's guide from the Marine Conservation Society was published last week, showing poor results for the Island.
The Society says it expected better results following the installation of the IRIS system.
However, it states the facility cost £170million, whereas the water board claims costs to date are £88million.
The Authority says it also had to contact the MCS last year to correct this figure.
Chairman of the Water Authority Tim Crookall says it's disappointing and frustrating that the MCS continue to use incorrect information.
The MCS report showed only one beach on the Island achieved recommended status, whilst five failed to meet the legal requirement for bathing.
