Union angry at redundancies
The Secretary of the Employees Side of the Whitley Council is angry at the way five railway workers were made redundant this week.
Eric Holmes says the group were locked out of the workplace by Director of Public Transport Ian Longworth without being given the chance to collect their personal belongings.
Initially it was thought up to 22 posts could be lost.
