Roadworks would be bad for business says Shoprite
Roadworks in Douglas have been delayed after a supermarket complained they'd be bad for business.
Shoprite says the plans to improve the road and drainage in Victoria Road would have clashed with a busy trading period and caused major disruption.
The Department of Infrastructure admits it hadn't consulted Shoprite properly.
The government was due to start digging up the road next week, but the work will now be done later in the year.
