Stronger penalties needed for driving offences says Minister

New laws that would introduce several new driving offences on the Island have had their first reading in the House of Keys.

 

The bill was the subject of a public consultation in January.

 

The new offences would include causing GBH by dangerous driving and causing death by inconsiderate driving.

 

The courts would also be able to get even tougher on unlicensed, unqualified and uninsured drivers who cause deaths on the roads.
