MHK to call for SPC public ownership investigation

An MHK will ask for a committee to be set up to look into bringing the Steam Packet Company into public ownership.

David Cannan will table the motion in Tynwald this morning.

There has been concern over the Steam Packet Company's future since rival operator Mezeron began a freight service from Douglas.

The Steam Packet has claimed it may have to make redundancies.
