Heart problems may have contributed to death
An inquest has heard how a woman with cerebral palsy may have collapsed before being run over by a car.
38 year old Drusilla Jane Hamm, known as Dru, died in November last year when she was run over by a Peugeot 307.
Witness reports say she was already lying motionless in the road when she was struck.
A Home Office pathologist examined her body, and believes the most likely explaination for her lying in the road was heart arrhythmia, which was result in fainting.
He ruled out the possibilty of her being struck by another car earlier, or an assault.
Coroner of inquests Alistair Montgomerie told the driver of the car that killed her that there was nothing he could have done.
He added that Dru's life should be celebrated, and that she achieved more in her short life than most in a full lifetime.
Dru was told she would never walk, but went on to take part in the Parish Walk twice, raising thousands for charity.
A verdict of accidental death was recorded.
