Experts brought in to Demesne Road trial

Experts in fire and shoe imprints are due to give evidence in the Demesne Road murder trial today.

The fire expert is expected to argue that paint thinners were used in the blaze at Demesne Road, but not at the other three locations.

Simon Paul Leece of Fairfield Terrace is accused of starting four fires in the area around his home last March.

The prosecution and the defence will each produce a shoe imprint expert to analyse evidence of a footprint found at the scene of the Peveril Street fire, which police say matches a pair of Leece's shoes.

Leece denies starting the fires which resulted in the death of builder Terry Losh.
