All beds replaced at Island's hospitals

A project replace all the beds in both Noble’s Hospital and Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital has been successfully completed.

The whole task took just over three days from start to finish, which is a day less than the original timetable.

A total of 263 brand new beds were deployed at both sites, starting at Ramsey.

Before they could be deployed to the wards all the beds had to be tested by the Electrical and Biomedical Engineering (EBME) Department, washed and then moved to the appropriate ward where they were swapped with the existing beds, many of which are now over 15 years old in many cases and needing frequent maintenance.
