Anyone who is currently thinking about furthering their education is invited to University College Isle of Man (UCM) on Saturday 16th March 2019 to talk to tutors and find out more about the range of options available at the College.
Jo Richardson, UCM’s Vice Principal said, “Whether you have decided on a course at UCM and want more information, or you are just reviewing all your options, Information Morning is the best time for you to do that.”
“This event gives you the opportunity to meet with tutors from any of our departments and discover the wide variety and breadth of courses that we offer. All our teaching and support staff have substantial working experience in their subject related sectors and are therefore are well positioned to give you the best advice about your next step in education and understand how that fits with your future career goals,” Jo added.
Prospective students and their families who attend Information Morning will also have the chance to explore the wide range of impressive facilities at the College. This includes the ‘realistic working environments’ which are learning spaces that re-create settings and atmosphere of a workplace. As well as all the purpose-built construction and engineering workshops, the College also provides students with the option to learn in the Annie Gill Café, Cristory’s Restaurant and Synnova Hair Salon.
UCM offers an extensive range of full-time, part-time and apprenticeship programmes. This year, the College will be offering its new Access Programme.
“This programme is perfect for students who are still undecided after completing school and wish to explore their options whilst building on their qualifications. They will be given the option of taking a combination of humanities and science subjects in the first year, allowing them to build on their success by selecting either a humanities or science pathway the following year,” Jo explained.
Information Morning will take place on Saturday, 16th March 2019, from 9.30am-12pm, at UCM, Homefield Road, Douglas.
