Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish will take an indefinite break from competition to recover from illness.
The rider missed time last year after being diagnosed with the Epstein-Barr virus, which causes glandular fever.
However, Team Dimension Data has announced tests have revealed Cavendish has been training with the virus still present in recent months.
The Olympic silver medalist has been advised to rest in order to fully recover before returning to training.
