Hosepipe ban comes into force today

A hosepipe ban is in force on the Isle of Man from today.

Manx Utilities announced earlier this week that the public won't be able to use hosepipes from today until further notice in order to ensure levels in the Island's reservoirs remain sufficient.

Those caught breaching the ban will face a fine of up to £1000.

The ban comes despite heavy rainfall earlier this week, which resulted in a UK water company cancelling its hosepipe ban.
