Police defend decision to taser dog
Thu, 19 Jul 2018
The police have released a statement saying it was necessary to taser a dog due to its aggressive behaviour.
Officers had to use the electronic device to control the animal last week after it was seen loose and unaccompanied near the playground in Wybourne Grove in Onchan.
Police were called out after members of the public became fearful of the dog due to its behaviour.
The Isle of Man Constabulary insists the taser was used to protect the public and the officer at the scene, and that it is not in a position to comment further.
