Cavendish out of Tour de France after missing time cut

Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish is out of the Tour de France after missing the time cut during yesterday's stage.

The Team Dimension Data rider was the final rider to cross the finish line on stage 11.

Although several stages have ended with sprint finishes so far this year, Cavendish was unable to pick up a stage win.

The 33-year-old has 30 stage wins at the Tour during his career, just four behind record holder Eddie Merckx.
