Ambulance service receives almost 2000 callouts for falls
Fri, 22 Jun 2018
The Island's ambulance service was called out almost five times per day to deal with falls over the last year.
Between the start of May 2017 and the end of May this year, the Emergency Services Joint Control Room received 1941 requests for an ambulance after someone had fallen.
The figure means the service received an average of 4.9 calls per day during the 13-month period.
Just over 700 of the callouts didn't require the patient to be taken to hospital by the ambulance team.
