New sign warns of approaching trams

A new tram warning light has been installed in Laxey to increase safety.

The Department of Infrastructure says the awkward angle for drivers travelling south at Green's Garage level crossing makes it difficult for motorists to see trams coming the same way as them.

As a result, a flashing amber light sign is now in place to tell drivers if a tram is about to cross.

The Department is trying to reduce the risk associated with the operation of the Island's rail network.
