Permission to demolish the Strathallan Horse Tram Depot is being sought by the Department of Infrastructure.
The Department, which owns and runs the Douglas Bay Horse Trams, has submitted a planning permission to get rid of the building, which is in a serious state of disrepair.
The DoI secured planning permission earlier this year to build a temporary facility at the nearby Summerland site while a new long-term stable facility is designed and built.
The new depot would include offices, public washrooms, accommodation for 13 horse tramcars and sheds.
