MEDS receives equipment to help diagnose sepsis
Tue, 20 Mar 2018
Equipment to help diagnose sepsis has been donated to the Manx Emergency Doctor Service.
The charity Mannin Sepsis gave the lactate monitor to MEDS, which will be used to help diagnose the potentially life-threatening condition.
The monitors are already used in ambulances, but will now be available at the out-of-hours GP service.
Sepsis can be a difficult condition to diagnose as symptoms are not always specific.
Mannin Sepsis was founded in memory of Ann Struthers, who died from sepsis at the age of 18 in 2013.
