A former Chief Minister of the Isle of Man says the Government's decision to list the former Castletown Police Station building on the open market is appalling.
Tony Brown, who was also MHK for Castletown during his time in the House of Keys, claims the move shows a total lack of support by Ministers for the Island's unique heritage.
Mr Brown is urging Castletown residents to lobby their MHKs, Chief Minister, Treasury Minister and Home Affairs Minister in a bid to get the building transferred to Manx National Heritage.
He believes the building could be used as a museum to show the history of the Isle of Man Constabulary, and that losing the opportunity would be disastrous.
Manx National Heritage previously applied to have the building transferred to their ownership, but the Government turned down the application.
The building is listed on the open market for £250,000, having been vacated in November last year.
