Council Leader hits out at "despicable" vandals

The Leader of Douglas Borough Council says the recent spate of vandalism in the town is "despicable".

David Christian admits there has been a noticeable escalation of the amount of vandalism in Douglas recently, and that such acts cost many thousands of pounds to repair.

Councillor Christian confirmed the local authority is working with the police following, who have CCTV images showing a small group of youths to be responsible.

The Council will be looking to recover the cost of the repairs following a fire in the toilets on Loch Promenade and vandalism at Shaw's Brow car park from the youngsters' parents.

Councillor Christian is also calling on the public to report anything suspicious to the police in a bid to cut down on vandalism.
