NSC fitness and spa areas to be closed for three weeks

The Fitness Zone and spa suite at the National Sports Centre is expected to remain closed for another three weeks.

The facility has been released back to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture following an investigation by the police and fire service.

The NSC had to be evacuated last Wednesday when a fire started in the changing area, resulting in extensive damage.

The area will need a full refurbishment, as well as replacing the ceiling tiles and cleaning the air conditioning and ventilation systems, while specialist suppliers will need to check the gym equipment.
