Free TV licences reinstated for over 75s
Sat, 24 Feb 2018
Manx residents aged over 75 will receive free TV licences again from the start of April.
Those who qualify will receive their new licence shortly before their current one is due to expire.
The Government held talks with the BBC and UK Government to restore the free licences.
Since 2016, elderly residents have had to pay for the licence themselves before seeking a refund from the Manx Government.
Those who are due to renew their licence before April 1st will still need to do so and apply for the rebate from the Island's Treasury.
