A Member of the Legislative Council will ask the Government to appoint a champion for older people at this month's sitting of Tynwald.
David Cretney is seeking support for a member to be appointed to highlight the concerns of older and lonely residents.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle insisted in November last year that the Council of Minister believes older people are already sufficiently represented in the Government.
The Government already has a children's champion, and Mr Cretney has campaigned for the Chief Minister to reconsider his decision about the older person's champion over the last couple of months.
Almost 100 people have signed a petition on change.org backing Mr Cretney.
