Planning permission for the redevelopment of Douglas Promenade has been submitted.
The Department of Infrastructure is seeking approval for the scheme, which is due to get underway in September.
The application includes a new design for the southern end of the promenade which it's hoped will improve traffic flow, while the northern end will be reconstructed on a like to like basis.
The plans also feature the creation of a cultural area near the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre, plus the installation of new water and gas mains.
The Department recently displayed the plans in the Sea Terminal, and say they were well-received by the business and hospitality sectors.
