Isle of Man resident nominated for BBC SPOTY

Jonathan Rea won the World Superbike Championship for the third year running.

Castletown resident Jonathan Rea is on the shortlist for this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

The 30-year-old made history earlier this year, securing a third straight World Superbike title.

In a post on his website, Rea said he's very excited to be included among the 12 nominees, describing it as the icing on the cake after a great year.

World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua is the favourite to win the award with the bookmakers.
